Everything to know about Sentosa Sensoryscape

Beginning March 14th, visitors to Resorts World Sentosa will have the opportunity to visit Sentosa’s beaches while being fully immersed in the island’s newest attraction.

With its “multi-sensory experience” moniker, Sentosa Sensoryscape connects the island’s northern and southern halves and provides visitors with a one-of-a-kind adventure during their stay.

An attraction measuring 350 meters in length and 30,000 square meters in area, Sentosa Sensoryscape is a verdant link that crosses the island.

A press statement states that the attraction “awakens all six senses, including the sense of imagination,” through its integration of technology, design, and nature.

Sentosa offers an endless supply of entertainment, from the beloved Universal Studios Singapore to the Harry Potter: The Forbidden Forest experience. The opening of Sentosa Sensoryscape comes right when you thought things on the island couldn’t get much more exciting.

The 350-meter-long garden walkway connects the Beach and Imbiah stations and offers a variety of sensory experiences. Using interactive zones and augmented reality, it departs from the typical green trail, creating a novel experience that lets you see Sentosa in a different light.

Before visiting Sentosa Sensoryscape, what information is necessary?

Sentosa Sensoryscape is truly magical when visited in the evening, when the sun sets and the light projections complement the breathtaking architecture. The attraction comes into its own after the sun goes down.

Natural elements and our five senses are entwined in the design of each zone, which takes its cues from woven baskets.

You should wear light, airy clothing to avoid overheating at Sentosa SensoryScape because the entire attraction is outside. Be sure to have a raincoat or umbrella on hand just in case. Since the whole journey is outdoors, you can never tell when they will be useful.

Is admission to Sentosa Sensoryscape mandatory?

While admission to Sentosa Sensoryscape is free, there are still charges to enter Sentosa Island. The typical entrance price for those riding the Sentosa Express starts at $4, while those driving or taking a cab should expect to pay between $2 and $6.

You may visit the Sentosa Sensoryscape from two different locations: Lookout Loop, which is accessible from Imbiah Station, and Glow Gardens, which is a 2-minute walk from Beach Station. This is because the Sentosa Sensoryscape is more of a trail than a single area.

Six areas spread out over a top and bottom level

Although you may be familiar with Singapore’s secret parks and gardens, Sentosa SensoryScape stands out as truly unique. There are two levels to the walkway: one above that provides a vista of the whole thing and a lower, covered level where you can access each of the six zones.

These areas invite you to immerse yourself in nature while being surrounded by plants, creating a harmonious blend of architecture and nature. As a whole, the five senses (sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing) plus a “sixth sense” (imagination) are catered to in each zone. All of the zones come together to form the ImagiNite experience, which is a hybrid of video projections and augmented reality.

Try out phone-based augmented reality light shows

Your phone is an absolute must. Not only can you use it as a camera, but you’ll also need it to fully appreciate the immersive walkway. Every night from 7.50 to 9.40 pm, there is a multi-media light show called ImagiNite. It has projections of various animals, aquatic life, and butterflies in each of the zones.

On the other hand, you may use your phone to see the zones come to life with luminous insects and plants, so you won’t miss the daily light show. The free ImagiNite app allows users to access the light projection, which is enhanced by an augmented reality experience. This experience features interactive video projections in two zones, Symphony Streams and Scented Spheres.

Keep an eye out for Sensoryscape’s Hyperzoom camera if you’re going it alone or too shy to ask someone to capture your first date shot. It creates a zoomed-in video or snapshot of the primary character and is located on the upper deck.

Even though the app is easy to use and has decent quality, you might want to go when there are fewer people around so you don’t blend in. When you’re done, use the ImagiNite app to download your finished photos.

You can see the walkway ahead, the Crockfords Tower, and Hotel Michael from the Lookout Loop, one of the two entrances to Sentosa Sensoryscape. The Lookout Loop is a twisting bridge. Even though it’s a beautiful view during the day, the misting light-up floor on the lower decks and laser beams shooting up into the sky turn it into an alien scene at night.

Sensoryscape of Sentosa: Viewpoint Perfume floor loop

With the blue and purple mist enveloping you, this spot is ideal for an Instagram photoshoot with a space theme. Your children may find this to be an improved version of the traditional free-water playground, complete with a refreshing mist that keeps them from getting too wet.

Vellus Trichoptera: Experience a variety of plant textures

Tactile Trellis Dome allows people to engage with the plants by feeling out their diverse textures, unlike other Singapore nature parks that may ask visitors not to touch the plants.

The ability to recognize different types of plants solely by their tactile characteristics can be acquired by handling various plant parts, such as fuzzy leaves, pokey pine cones, and ticklish grass. Some of these species have feathery or velvety textures, such as the Chinese wormwood or the asparagus plant.

Symphony Streams Interior: Sentosa Sensoryscape

Symphony Streams, an area devoted to the sense of hearing, with its calming water walls cascading in soft splashes, was our favorite section. The addition of rhythm and movement brought by the running water bowls was a huge hit with us.

Have a stunning experience in  Symphony Streams, where the serene environment of blue bowls and water drops gives way to an enchanting underwater world teeming with marine life. Join the kids in a fun game where they may see sea creatures like jellyfish, octopi, and turtles projected on the floor, all while the soothing sound of water resonates around them.

Through the augmented reality function of the zone, you may also cause these projections to rise from the floor, allowing 3D aquatic creatures to swim about you and the vessel’s walls.

Learn the fundamentals of Singaporean cuisine

The Palate Playground is a little off the beaten path, yet it’s filled with displays of Singaporean culinary herbs and spices. The interactive light installation is best experienced at night, when visitors can walk on projected snakes and bugs to transform them into beams of light.

Glow Gardens: The prettiest spot for pictures
Glow Gardens stairway, Sentosa Sensoryscape

We will keep the most impressive part until the end. We predict that Singaporeans will love the Glow Gardens, a magical archway with tall flower stalks that light up in a variety of tints when the sun goes down.

You can sit on these steps to relax after a long day of exploring the Sensoryscape. In addition, you will be able to enjoy complimentary viewing of a selection of Wings of Time Sentosa’s projections and pyrotechnics.

The largest number of people gather here to take pictures. Come throughout the day or on a weeknight if you’d like to avoid the crowds and have some peace.

The Sentosa Sensoryscape is not easy to find.

You have the option to begin your experience from either the canopying Lookout Loop or the dazzling Glow Gardens, as there are two separate access locations.

The entrance to Sentosa Sensoryscape—Imbiah!

To reach the Lookout Loop, take the Sentosa Express from VivoCity and get out at Imbiah Station. In addition, the Lookout Loop may be reached by alighting at the Merlion Station on the Singapore Cable Car.

On the other hand, you can take the Beach Transfer Hub stop and walk across from Beach Station to the Glow Gardens.

Take advantage of your next weekend off to visit Sentosa Sensoryscape.

Light to Night and I Light Singapore are just two examples of the many light projections that Singaporeans like. It boasts Instagram-worthy scenery and stunning projection mapping. However,  during the two hours of the ImagiNite experience (7.50-9.40 pm), Sentosa Sensoryscape is far more appealing when captured on film.

Feel the Sentosa Trellis Interior in Your Senses

While some areas, such as Symphony Streams and the Tactile Trellis, are visually breathtaking at any time of day, the show is when portions like Palate Playground, Glow Gardens, and Lookout Loop truly shine. On top of that, taking decent shots in a crowded Glow Gardens is no picnic.

Regardless, Sentosa Sensoryscape was a fun place to spend the evening, especially considering that admission is free. So, if you’re seeking a free date idea in Singapore or want to go when the crowds go, it’s well worth it.
